Come join us! New Mentor Recruitment! Spring 2023

We’re looking for more mentors to join us in the shop this Spring! As you know, MakerWorkshop is a fully student-run shop, and we’re looking for more mentors (like YOU!) to keep making it work!

This is a great chance to connect more closely with the MIT maker community and also learn valuable (and marketable) making skills!

If you are interested, fill out this quick application.

The deadline to apply is 5pm on Wednesday, February 1st:

    ****Mentor Application****

    The details:

    1. Our Mentors run the shop during open hours, train users on machines, help with student projects, and have a say in new equipment and tool purchases
    2. The time commitment is one two-hour shift and one hour of training each week, with an occasional 1-2 hours for machine maintenance/repairs when needed.
    3. In return, Mentors enjoy off-hours access to MakerWorkshop, which means access to all of our tools, machines, and resources when you need them most! And a great community of makers and builders.

Undergrads, grad students, postdocs, and staff are all eligible to apply. New mentors will be notified in early February. You don’t need to be a shop guru to be a mentor – in February we’ll train you and help you learn from current mentors on the job.

Please email us (mw-exec [at] mit.edu) with any questions – we hope you’ll join us!
